Great news for HIF members - we're simplifying our optical benefits so you can claim more on glasses and contacts in future!
From 1 June, we'll be removing those confusing optical sub-limits currently detailed in our PDS. Instead, there'll just be one annual limit per person, so if you have Saver, Special, Super or Premium Options Extras Cover with HIF, you'll soon be able to claim 100% of the fee until your annual limit is reached!
For example, if you've held Premium Options for five years or more, you'll soon be able to claim a whopping $350 per year in optical benefits.
Not only does this improvement make our optical cover easier to understand, it also means that higher rebates can be claimed for a range of items that were previously subject to sub-limits.
