HIF has partnered with leading digital health platform HealthShare to empower its Members to make better informed decisions about their healthcare.
HIF Managing Director, Graeme Gibson, said Members can now discuss potential out-of-pocket expenses with their GP prior to being referred to a specialist.

Approximately 85% of Australian GPs are now using HealthShare’s in-clinic software to find a specialist who aligns with their patient's private health fund and associated no-gap program.
“Our integration with HealthShare means that HIF’s details can now be accessed at the point of referral,” said Mr Gibson.
“This means that GPs can immediately locate the key information they need when recommending specialists to our Members."
In addition to the in-clinic software, HIF Members can also search for their own specialists online using HIF’s new Find a No Gap Specialist option.
Powered by HealthShare, the new online search enables HIF Members to find registered gap scheme practitioners by name, location, specialty or sub-specialty.
Once located, Members can then access up-to-date information at a provider level, such as special interests, languages spoken, the ability to take urgent appointments and even patient ratings; any of which may be important considerations when planning a consultation or surgery.
