Australia’s sustainability champions have been recognised and we are proud to stand tall among them.
HIF has been named a finalist in the Finder Green Awards, which recognise Australia’s greenest industry leaders.
The Finder Green Awards exist to help Australians make more sustainable decisions every day across several industries including energy, insurance, banking, shopping, superannuation and telecommunications.
Entrants are judged on greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy usage and waste avoiding landfill, as well as a selection of industry-specific criteria to showcase how they’re paving the way for sustainability in their field.
HIF was Australia’s first carbon neutral health fund, as certified by the Carbon Reduction Institute (CRI) on 25 September, 2008, and has been named in the Green Insurer of the Year category.
HIF CEO Justin James said as an officially environmentally friendly organisation, HIF believes in actually doing the right thing.
“As a not-for-profit health fund, it’s in our nature to always think about our community. We recognise that a healthier environment is better for everyone and we are proud to be recognised for leading the way in shaping sustainability best practice.” said James.
Finalists for the awards have been announced across 22 industry and people categories. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Sydney on 8 June.
